Dave R G Mitchell

Dave Mitchell is a Senior Research Fellow at the Electron Microscopy Centre at the University of Wollongong. He has worked with TEM/STEM for over 25 years. In the last six years he has been responsible for the design, installation, commissioning and roll out of new microscopy facilities at the University of Sydney, Sasol (South Africa) and UoW. He currently manages the JEOL ARM200F aberration (probe) corrected TEM/STEM at UoW. He supports both internal and external users of the facility, which is accessible to all Australian researchers and industry groups (contact: dmitchel@uow.edu.au). His research interests are in the development and application of advanced microscopy methods to the study of materials, especially in the area of EELS, EDS and high resolution imaging. He is also a developer of microscopy tools for the DigitalMicrograph (Gatan Inc.) platform, freely available through his website (www.dmscripting.com).
