Catherine S. Palmer 24th Australian Conference on Microscopy and Microanalysis 2016

Catherine S. Palmer

Catherine Palmer obtained her PhD in Biochemistry at La Trobe University for the study of novel proteins involved in the mediation of mitochondrial division, during which she developed a passion for fluorescence microscopy techniques. She went on to continue her research in the role of mitochondrial division proteins, with a post doctoral research position at the La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science under Professor Mike Ryan, which continued upon a lab move to Monash University. Most recently she has joined the Burnet Institute and Monash Micro Imaging as a microscopy specialist, and is currently utilising fluorescence and super resolution microscopy to investigate the organisation of proteins within the malaria parasite.
